Thursday the 20th of July 2017, marked an exciting day for the face of winter Netherlands team. It was a day for the hosting of our first charity- clothing Pop-up store for people in need at the world house Amsterdam. The world house is a center for information and counselling for individuals with few rights in the Netherlands.
Eliane Nininahzwe the migrant youth Ambassador for ‘’ face of winter Netherlands’’ opened the Pop-up store around 13pm with a collection of Men, Women and children clothes collected from friends, family and loved ones, our team were in high spirit to host their less privileged customers.
Drinks and snacks partly sponsored by one of our partners Dorcky schoonmaakbedrijf a cleaning company in Amsterdam were served to our less privileged customers who were very excited to shop their new clothing for free.
Eliane used the opportunity to educate the people on their HIV rights and urged those who may be HIV positive and may be afraid to open up about their HIV status not to be afraid of rejection from the world as always one way or the other the world may reject an individual in many ways not just with an HIV positive status.
The shop was closed around 15pm with a thank you message from Charisma Adams who is the Coordinator for face of winter Netherlands urging the people not to give up on their dreams and not to allow their current situations define who they are, the event was brought to an end.
The face of winter Netherlands is a charity campaign that aims to reach out to people in need especially the homeless individual who finds himself in the grips of homelessness during the winter season. Throughout the year the Face of winter Netherlands team will be mounting charity campaigns to support the less privileged not only in the Netherlands but also in other part of the world.
